A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME AND MY MISSION

As a Certified Personal Trainer, I have dedicated my life to changing lives by sharing inspiring challenges, coaching fitness, and words of wisdom.

My mission is to empower women around the world to feel confident, healthy and strong from the inside - out through the practice of fitness and mindfulness. As we know 

exercise isn’t just great for our bodies, it also makes us feel happier, more confident and give us more energy. My favorite thing about what I do is seeing how people transform both mentally and physically when they incorporate exercise into their lifestyle.

I am a Personal trainer, professional choreographer, book author, creator and founder of DLS Dance Studio and T-45 Fitness in Galveston, Texas!

Tatiana changed my life through her training program and inspired me a love and commitment to exercise that no one before her was ever able to do. Her training is not only fun, it is effective. So thankful for this woman right here Tatiana Verega. When I came to her over a year ago I had just lost my brother and I was searching for a positive outlet to overcome my anxiety and sadness . She became my trainer and my friend . Little did she know that not only was she helping me get healthier on the outside but the inside as well . She opened the door to a community of exceptional women who had no idea what I was going through yet always greeted me with smiles and kind words . Going there everyday is my sanctuary a place where I can be happy and laugh.

What a journey! It hasn’t been an easy one, nor very quick but it’s been truly amazing. I can not begin to explain the lifetime impact Tatiana has made on me. I have went from dreading going to a work out, to making my schedule work around my training time and often find myself missing the gym! And to think that now this is only the beginning. 

4 years ago, I was in nursing school and living a very unhealthy life. Taking anything I could for a quick fix to lose weight and have energy. Phentermine, adderall, diuretics, you name it and I’ve probably tried it. Yes there was some results occasionally, but nothing that lasted or made me feel any better. A little over 2 years ago I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Disease, an autoimmune thyroid disorder. I was exhausted walking up the stairs, gained a tremendous amount of weight, at my heaviest weighing just shy of 200lbs. I was miserable, so unhappy, insecure, hiding behind baggy clothes, and making every excuse possible of why I felt the way I did and kept having to buy bigger clothes. Let’s be real, just because you get told, your disorder will make you gain weight and blah blah blah, doesn’t mean you have to let that define you or the life you want to live.

I  remember my breaking point like it was yesterday. One day, at my endocrinologist appointment I  stepped on the scale and it read 196lbs. I cried. I was so disappointed and disgusted in myself. Shortly after that I met Tatiana and she has definitely became more than just a coach to me. With the kick start of her positive and dedicated attitude, I decided that it was time to quit making excuses and my body was in total agreement. Since I started counting at 184lbs, I’m currently down 36lbs and at my lowest weight since high school. Losing 36 pounds has provided me with the opportunity to gain so much more in life. I have learned how to love my self again, became so much healthier, and my body thanks me every day. Mentally, I  am in such a good place. My blood pressure is better than it’s ever been, and I am no longer on the edge of being diabetic. I enjoy cute outfits and bathing suits, have so much more energy, and have truly found happiness. It’s so hard to be happy when you feel like shit and hate what you see in the mirror every day. I  am eternally grateful for the courage to take this step and start this journey. Every single bead of sweat, every cuss word, every time I have felt like giving up but didn’t, has been worth it. And if i had to choose, Id choose it again, every single time!
